The Cotton Gin Cadet Style Brimmed Cap

Worsted Weight Yarn, at least one-half 6-8 oz skein

H sized hook

Gauge: 4 Rounds = 3 5/8 inches across

Stitches used: slip stitch, single crochet, hdc, xhdc(crossed half double crochet).

xhdc: This stitch may have another name and another symbol but this is what I’ll call it for this pattern. To perform the xhdc in this pattern, on the first round, skip one stitch, hdc in next, then working back, skip the same stitch again and hdc in the next stitch behind it. On the next round, you simply stack the crossed stitches. The tops of the stitches look the same from row to row, but I’ll attach a simplified diagram here: cottonginxhdcdiagram.

Do not turn. This beanie is worked in the round. The ch 1 at the beginning of each round does not count as a stitch.
